NAD 2,800Xiaomi has carved out a name for itself as a company that delivers high-end specs for a fraction of the price of rivals, and it’s just unveiled the Redmi 10, which does exactly that at the budget end of the market. The Redmi 10 starts at just $179 (around £130) for a model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, rising to $199 (roughly £145) for 128GB of storage, and $219 (around £160) to additionally boost the RAM to 6GB.
One of the highlights of this phone is its design. On the back, you get a big camera module with four cameras in it, and as you can see written on the camera module, the primary camera includes a 50MP sensor. There is a fingerprint scanner on the right, and on the front, you get a flat display with a hole-punch cutout in the middle. There are also stereo speakers on this phone where the primary speaker is on the bottom, and the secondary one is on the top. The USB Type-C port is there on the bottom, and the headphone jack is on the top. Since it is a budget phone, you get a polycarbonate build. The Redmi 10 features a 6.5-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, AdaptiveSync refresh rate (45Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz), and a centered punch-hole. The panel supports both Reading mode 3.0 as well as Sunlight display. The device measures 161.95 x 75.53 x 8.92mm in dimensions and weighs 181g. The panel is protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. As for the cameras, there is a Quad camera setup on the back, but apart from the primary shooter, there isn’t anything unique regarding the other three cameras. There is a 50MP main lens, which is said to have Samsung’s S5KJN1 camera sensor. There is a secondary 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP cameras, one for depth information and the other for macro shots. There is no 4K video recording support, and you cannot even record FHD videos at 60fps as it is limited to 30fps. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera. Under the hood, the Redmi 10 is powered by the new MediaTek Helio G88 chipset built on the 12nm manufacturing process and has two Cortex-A75 based cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. As the name suggests, this chipset sits between the Helio G85 and the Helio G90 when it comes to performance. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS (GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS), USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for software, the handset runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. Last but not least, it is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. There is also reverse charging support so that you can charge any other phone with the Redmi 10 at up to 9W power.Redmi 10 Specifications
